Havza Vocational School was established within Ondokuz Mayıs University in 1993 and commenced its educational activities in the same year. The Business Administration Program, part of the Management and Organization Department within the Vocational School, was proposed to the Council of Higher Education by the University Rectorate on May 3, 1993, with document number B.30.2.ODM.0.76.06.00/076-02046, and was established under the Council of Higher Education's decision number 93.32.1450, which mandated the creation of two departments and three programs.
In accordance with this decision, the program initially began its educational activities in the 1996-1997 academic year with 31 students under the name "Business Administration Program" within the Department of Economic and Administrative Programs. The program produced its first graduates in the 1997-1998 academic year.
In accordance with the changes made by the Council of Higher Education to the ISCED field codes, the department and program name to which the program belongs have been reorganized. With the Council of Higher Education's letter dated April 27, 2009, and numbered 916-12232, the program's name was changed to "Business Administration Program" under the Department of Management and Organization.
The program's educational activities are updated periodically in line with developments in higher education, sector expectations, and stakeholder opinions. In this context, the program's curriculum and course content underwent their first comprehensive curriculum update with the Board of Directors' decision dated June 26, 2018, and numbered 2018/2. With this update, the program's course plan was reorganized in line with contemporary business management understanding, applied education approaches, and sector needs.
Currently, the program operates within the Department of Management and Organization, continuing its educational activities with the aim of providing students with fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of business, developing application-oriented professional competencies, and training qualified intermediate-level personnel needed by the business world.
